絹本着彩の妖怪画作品としていわゆる日本画的立派な佇まいに思えるものが、何故か４コマ漫画で妖怪ギャグものが描かれている。ぱっと見てまず「なぜそんなことを」と笑ってしまう。画面に書かれた文字を追っても達筆すぎるのか崩れすぎているのか何を書いているのかよくわからない。落款も捺してある。どこの誰が描いたのかわからないが立派に見える絹本着彩の妖怪画だ。だけど４コマ漫画で、しかもギャグ漫画のようだ。でも何故そんなことを……これは一体なんなのか……
絹本着彩作品として、妖怪画として美しく見入ってしまうが、先述した想いがグルグルとするのでより一層目をみはる。その創作過程を想い、愛着を感じつつ、笑ってしまう。
